CAN DEMONS USE YOUR PAST AGAINST YOU?

The Shepherd Who Fights for the Fragments

Freedom isn’t a theory — it’s a reality written in blood.
The prophet Amos paints one of the most vivid pictures of deliverance in all of Scripture:

“As a shepherd rescues from the lion’s mouth only two leg bones or a piece of an ear, so will the Israelites living in Samaria be rescued.” — Amos 3:12

What a scene. A lion has torn into its prey. Bones are scattered, flesh devoured — and yet the shepherd runs in. He doesn’t stand by and mourn what’s lost. He fights for what remains.

That’s who Jesus is.
The Good Shepherd who leaps into the mouth of the lion to rescue what’s left of you.

Even if all that’s left are bones and pieces — He still calls it worth saving.
Because Jesus is better at delivering than demons are at destroying.

No one is too far gone.
No soul is too broken.
No story is beyond redemption.

When the Lion Attacks — Jesus Interrupts

Demons are ruthless. Their goal is simple: steal, kill, and destroy. They feast on trauma, addiction, bitterness, and shame. But the Shepherd never runs from the fight. He interrupts the enemy’s meal and reclaims what belongs to Him.

That’s the reality of freedom — it’s not about being perfect; it’s about being rescued.
And Jesus still rescues today.

Breaking Ungodly Soul Ties

Freedom doesn’t stop at salvation — it continues through deliverance.

A soul tie is a deep spiritual and emotional connection between two people. It can be godly — like the bond between Jonathan and David — or it can become a doorway for darkness when rooted in sin, manipulation, or trauma.

Many believers unknowingly live bound by unhealthy soul ties from past relationships, sexual encounters, or spiritual abuse.
You can feel it when you can’t stop thinking about someone, reliving the past, or carrying emotional pain that doesn’t belong to you.

Ungodly soul ties often form through:

  • Sexual sin (1 Corinthians 6:16)

  • Abusive or controlling relationships

  • Occult practices or spiritual rituals

  • Unresolved emotional attachments

But here’s the good news: Jesus came to restore your soul (Psalm 23:3).
He doesn’t just forgive — He heals what’s been fractured.

The Spiritual Consequences of Sexual Sin

Sex is not just physical — it’s spiritual.
In God’s design, it’s a covenant act of unity. Outside of that covenant, it becomes a doorway.

From ancient pagan rituals to modern New Age practices, sexual acts have long been used to open “spiritual” connections.
But what the world calls “energy,” Scripture calls bondage.

When two become one outside of God’s order, unholy ties are formed. Demons use those bonds to gain influence over emotions, dreams, and even health. You can’t use condoms against demons — spiritual doors require spiritual sealing.

Jesus can close every door.
Confession, repentance, and renouncing those soul ties in prayer breaks their power once and for all.

Bitterness and Unforgiveness: The Devil’s Bait

Forgiveness isn’t optional — it’s spiritual warfare.

“If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” — Matthew 6:15 (NIV)

Unforgiveness is like spiritual poison.
It doesn’t destroy your enemies — it feeds your demons.

Jesus told a story about a man forgiven of much, who refused to forgive a little. The result? He was handed over to the torturers (Matthew 18:34) — a picture of demonic torment that enters through bitterness.

When you hold onto offense, you build a prison that only your forgiveness can unlock.

“Offense is the bait, and bitterness is the trap.”

Demons can’t enter where grace reigns. Forgive quickly, love deeply, and stay free.

Freedom Is for You

You might feel like the lion’s already won. Like there’s nothing left to save.
But the Shepherd isn’t looking for perfection — He’s looking for permission.

He will rescue what’s left.
He will heal what’s broken.
He will restore what’s been lost.

No matter what you’ve done, no matter how deep the bondage — Jesus is better at delivering than demons are at destroying.

And if you’ll let Him, He’ll fight for even the pieces of you that everyone else gave up on.
